Vignettes

I was supposed to be preparing some song ideas for a overall branch meeting that I am to be leading music at.  I sat down with the guitar, which I hadn't done in a while, and started playing around - just to get in the mood a little - and this little lick came to me.  Kept playing, kept playing and vs. 1 came.  I recalled the idea of vignettes that was encouraged - as we prepared sharings at gatherings - a few years ago.  I thought, "That could be a great idea for a song - capture little vignettes that have truthful relevance, but are still general enough to mesh into a lyrical verse."  So, some verses have direct truth relevant to my life, my families life, or brothers/sisters that I've encountered and/or shared life with in the People of Praise.  But, It was a new idea worth testing out in the form of a song, I thought.  The great thing is that it's repititious enough that you could add or scratch verses as fit the context of when it might be used.
