Working notes:

I was just playing around with open D tuning one Saturday night in Nov. I was thinking about a challenging decision in my life, and how good it would be to be thinking clearly about the decision, after some additional thought and prayer. The strong chorus chord progression sarted coming together. I though about all the things we're trying to do in the world, as PoP, and the words just came.

I guess I could see a shaker in this, to meet the driving beat that comes across in the strumming rhythm.  Based on the intro notes, I built the lyrics and the repetitive nature of the verses to be sung in the middle of improv worship. Simple, reflective verses that build into a big chorus, or just stay (potentially) as reflective lyrics only.

Its a hard one to record, after I've been listening over and over to it for the last few weeks. Hard, because I'm moved by it everytime I listen to it or try to sing it. Probably a good enough sign, that its a keeper!

Thanks Cathy N for helping with the aud. recording on 11/18.

I don't know if it's important, but after it's all come together I guess that a contemporary influence might be a cross between Nick Drake, Dashboard Confessionals, and maybe Damien Rice.
