Hugh Springer, Jr. (April 2009)

Intro

I will not be shaken
I will not be filled with doubt
'Cause I can be confident
That the One I trust won't let me down

No I won't be shaken
I will not be filled with doubt
'Cause I can be confident

We will not be shaken
We will not be filled with doubt
'Cause we can be confident
That the One we trust won't let us down

No we won't be shaken
We will not be filled with doubt
'Caused we can be confident
That the One we trust won't let us down

Verse

Lord, we trust you   (echo) Lord we trust you
With the things that we hold dear    (echo) we trust you
Uncertainties we fear     (echo) we trust you
And when sudden events leave things unclear

Yes we trust you   (echo) Yes we trust you
With the odds that feel outweighed    (echo) we trust you
Expenses that must be paid    (echo) we trust you
Temptations that don't go away

Chorus

We will not be shaken
We will not be filled with doubt
'Cause we can be confident
That the One we trust won't let us down

No we won't be shaken
We will not be filled with doubt
'Caused we can be confident
That the One we trust won't let us down

 (spoken word: )

"In these trying times, God's economy does face recession.  It's an economy built on love for the Father, manifested in the relationships we share with one another.  It's an economy that is bound by commitments to serve and support one another in all things: material, spiritual, and financial.  It is not an economy that can be divided by political opinions or religious practices.  It is not an economy that can be limited by money or lack there of.  If you are willing to commit with me today to rely on God's economy – no matter what the world's economy might look like, join with me right now."

Inspirations:

March/April 2009 V&B http://peopleofpraise.org/thevine/ : "Trust in the Lord to be provided with sustenance, [and in turn offer time, talent, and treasure]…to support the Lord's work"; Tough economic times in 2009; Real life stories of job losses from family and friends; Easter '09 sharing from Kreugers; Matthew  17:20 (Faith of a mustard seed can move mountains).  Phil 4:11-13 (I can do all things in Him who strengthens me).

Notes:

Since a few of my songs that end up fitting the best in a meeting or gathering scenario seem to have some element of heavy or driving acoustic rhythms - I want to explore alternatives: reverb on electric, some simulated pulsing keyboard sound(?), maybe some simulated electronic drum in the intro, a rolling march-like snare on the first part/verse, but after the full band comes in, drum kick on 1, 2, (snare - 3) & 1, 2, (snare - 3).
