No Better Time
Hugh Springer, Jr. (June 2009)
Capo 6 (G C D G; C G D Em )

Vs.1
Sitting on the elevator
What comes to mind? "I'll do it later"
What if this is there's not a second chance?
A bold-for-Christ circumstance

Riding on the city bus
You don't want to cause a fuss
Keep quiet to yourself instead
While words are spoken in your head

Pre-chorus
It's time to break down the walls that hold you back
Think of the ways that you react
Live what you believe, be a little bolder
The Kingdom of our God is here, today
So why find reasons to delay?
Live what you believe, be a little bolder

Chorus
Don't need to wait for "the right time"
Just to fall right back in line
There is no better time to say, then right now!
So Blessed be the Name! (x 2)

Vs. 2
The soccer game or public place
The reputation you embrace
Conform to the norm or set apart?
Consider following your heart

Driving down the road alone
On the way to work or going home
An incident, an expletive
Or hold your tongue and honor Him

Vs. 3
A world diverse with many types
Each a child of God and loved by Christ
But a judging look or gazing stare?
If we're all equal, why compare?

A friend or family disagrees
Left unsettled, not at peace
A comment like, "It is what it is"
Or humbly seek out to forgive

Outro
Blessed be the Name!
Blessed be the Name, of Jesus (x4)

Notes

You perhaps have heard the stories of the guy who took a chance and just started talking to his boss or CEO in the elevator, and ends up praying for him.  Perhaps your on the plane or the bus and you don't take a chance to strike up a conversation.  Perhaps you're too worried about your reputation in the day-to-day life, and you don't want that to mix work life with your Christian life.  Maybe you let a few things slip in certain circumstances when you're just by yourself in the car or among certain circles.  This song wasn't written strictly to call other people on, it was more written to call myself on in numerous applicable scenarios to my life.  Even writing this song and perhaps releasing it publicly is the bold step that I've recently felt called on to do.   There's no better time then the here and now to proclaim the name of Jesus!
