I'm Glad
Hugh Springer, Jr. – (june 2009)
Key: D

(Instru Intro: G, D, A, D / G, D, Bm, D)

Vs. 1
There’s something I need to say, about a friend of mine
It was a regular day, when I chose to take some time
He said, “Let me in your heart”, so I said, “ok”
I was convinced from the start…of this conversation

Refrain
And Yeah, now I live for Jesus
Yeah, and in Him I put my trust
Yeah, He is the One
That I stand for, raise my hands for, and I say that He is my Lord, and I’m glad

(Instru Interlude: G, D, A, D / G, D, Bm, D)

Vs. 2
On average I reach a few, in my day-to-day
He lives in me and in you, I hope my words persuade
(But) whether I’m lucky or not, I’ll keep pressin’ on
My faith, it cannot be shot…down by mere rejection

Refrain
And Yeah, ‘cause I live for Jesus
Yeah, and in Him I put my trust
Yeah, He is the One
That I stand for, raise my hands for, and I say that He is my Lord, and I’m glad

(Instru Interlude: G, D, A, D / G, D, Bm, D)

Vs. 3
So take a minute or three, when your door gets a knock
Share life in Him and with me, twist the handle flip the lock
Consider letting Him in, you will be surprised
The life that you can begin…when you chose in freedom

Refrain
And Yeah, that’s why I live for Jesus
Yeah, and in Him I put my trust
Yeah, He is the One
That I stand for, raise my hands for, and I say that He is my Lord, and I’m glad

(Instru postlude: G, D, A, D / G, D, Bm, D)

Notes

I've been thinking more about personal relationships with the Lord, as some are - going through the meditations.  I think of those that may be being witnessed to (currently) by the p.o.p missionaries.  And, I thought about my first experience having a conversation with the Lord.  To be honest - it wasn't something miraculous or earth shattering.  It just another day, and that was o.k.  He works in the normal situations just as much as the miraculous situations.  So, I think there's more verses to come on this, but it's a start.  I played around a little with introducing a drum loop sample.  Let me tell you - tt's tricky to synch up the rhythm and beats of multiple tracks with a fixed beat - yikes!  There's reason why recording studios charge to extra to run Beat Detective on ProTools to auto snap multiple tracks to the main beat.  As it turns out, plans for pursuing venture capital to support this over project and invest such tools has not quite come into the immediate plan.  So, the beats  on this one are not perfectly tight, but still fun!  After listening to it more - it feels like a mix of influence between Eric Hutchinson and Jack Johnson.
