Capo (kay - poh):
Short for Capotasto: Italian for "Head of Fretboard"; A capo is a device attached to the fret board to "bame" the strings across any fret position. It used for raising the pitch of any stringed instrument (guitar, mandolin, or banjo). It was invented by the Flamenco guitarist, Jose Patino Gonzalez.
